During the top of the first inning, a Phillies fan took a tumble over the railing, startling players and halting the game.
NBC Sports reporter Taryn Hatcher explained that a ball was tossed to a fan but landed in a flower bed above the bullpen. The fan apparently tried to reach down and get the ball but ended up in the bullpen instead.
In a statement to various outlets, the Phillies said the fan was responsive and conscious on the way to Jefferson Hospital for treatment.
The game resumed after approximately 10 minutes and ended in a win for the Red Sox, 5-3.
